South Carolina outlaws the "abominable crime" of Buggary (§ 16-15-120) which it punishes with imprisonment of five years in the penetentiary or a fine of not less than five hundred dollars or both.
Fornication (§ 16-15-80) is also illegal and punished with a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than one year or both.
